Top 12 Questions Clients ask us before their shoot

Boudoir Photography – Frequently Asked Questions

Booking your first boudoir session can be intimidating. When talking with women about their sessions, I get asked all sorts of questions. These are the most frequently asked questions I receive, and hopefully this can give you some insight on what a boudoir session is like!

Do you share my images?

The number one priority is ensuring our clients feel comfortable, and safe. Shooting boudoir is empowering, but it can also make you feel vulnerable. I only share images if the client has given written or verbal consent to allow SHINEon Boudoir to share their photos.

Do I have to pose nude?

Absolutely not! Your experience should not feel pressured nor will you be forced you to do anything you don’t feel comfortable doing! Intimate photography and intimate poses can still be accomplished while also leaving something for the imagination. This experience is about embracing you as a woman and building up your confidence. I have never had one bad experience yet with any of my clients and don’t plan to start now!

What is Implied Nude?
As the title says implied nude photography is “implied” that the subject is nude, but the viewer can’t be for certain the subject is fully nude. Sometimes the person is actually nude, but the pose is done is such a way that it leaves the full answer in doubt. If done correctly, implied nude photography can be extremely artistic.  To see some examples, check out a blog post I wrote about this style – What is Implied Nude Photography?

Do you have payment plans?
We do not offer payment plans for the sessions fees. We do offer an in house six month payment plan towards product purchases. However, product orders are not placed until the payment plan is complete. We do accept PayPal Credit, which you can apply for directly through PayPal. When you use PayPal Credit, your product orders are placed as soon as your edits are completed.

Is hair and makeup included?
Hair and makeup is included in all of our sessions! I feel it is really important for our clients to feel their best for their session, and having your hair and makeup done is a great way to do that. Our amazing team can help you complete your look with more natural looks, to full glam. You can always bring images or makeup ideas with you, that our makeup artists can use as inspiration.

Do you photoshop my images?
Your images will have their light, exposure and any color correction needed. Our editor will also complete things such as skin smoothing, removing bruises, etc. We aim to have our images look as natural as possible when completed, as we want your images to look like you.

Where should I buy outfits?

There are so many incredible lingerie retailers you can purchase from! Victoria’s Secret, Playful Promises, Blue Bella, Thistle and Spire, For Love and Lemons, Torrid, Honey Birdette, and we always have our SHINEon Lingerie available for purchase at the studio. If you’re looking for something specific, please reach out, and we’ll see if our team can help you find the item(s) you’re wanting!

What type of print products do you have?
We offer luxury albums, lock boxes with matted prints, acrylic ice blocks, acrylic artwork, aluminum artwork, and canvases!

Do you offer digitals?
Digitals images are available on a locked online gallery for 14 days once sent, for you to download and share.

I am freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?
Your first boudoir session can be nerve wracking, but you’re in good hands! It is completely normal to feel anxious going into your session, but our team is here to make you have the best experience and outcome possible. You can reach out to our team with any questions or concerns you have, and we’ll happily assist.

How many outfits?
The number of outfits depends on the type of session booked. The Birthday Celebration Session, In The Sheets Session and Water Session include three looks. The Couples Boudoir, Editorial Glam and Runway Angel include four looks. The Black Session includes five looks, and two makeup looks.

Should I get to my shoot early?
You should always plan on getting to your shoot about 10 minutes, so we can talk about your outfits, hair and makeup before getting started.
